Paul and Carla met at a Scarborough restaurant in 1987 while attending a convention. Carla was 17 years old and Bernardo was 23. Two weeks before the wedding, Bernardo saw Leslie Mahaffy standing at the door of her house in Burlington. Leslie told her parents that she would go to say goodbye to her friend who died in a car accident and would be home by 11:00 pm. She chatted with Bernardo and approached his car, Bernardo forced her into the car and took her to his home for 53 km, where he and Homolka held the girl hostage for 24 hours, repeatedly raping her. They filmed the process, including a scene where Homolka posed in a variety of outfits before they began to rape Leslie. In the end, they killed her. Homolka later claimed that Bernardo strangled Mahaffy with an electric cord. In 1993, Bernardo was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for at least 25 years. He is currently eligible for parole and has applied to participate in one of the Toronto boroughs. Victims and the public expressed shock at the parole application. Tim Dunson, a lawyer for the families of the dead victims, said there was no chance Bernardo would see the outside world again.

After Tammy fell asleep, Carla put a rag soaked in chloroform to her sister's face just in case. And then Paul stepped in. He carried Tammy into the bedroom, undressed her, began to undress himself, but suddenly stopped.

Without any objections, he agreed to donate blood, hair and nails for DNA analysis. But these samples remained in the laboratory. In those days, genetic analysis was quite long-term and labor-intensive. And there were too many trials to study. From the report of the police it followed that Paul Bernardo most likely had nothing to do with the "rapist from Scarborough." And his analyzes were put on the shelf, and then completely forgotten. But Paul, a little disturbed by the visit of the police, fell silent for the time being. Well, then something happened that happened with Tammy Homolka, and he was no longer particularly interested in ordinary violence. Now he needed something more.

Murder as a wedding gift

Carla and Paul's wedding was scheduled for July 1991. And the maniacs decided to make themselves a wedding present. On July 14, 1991, they drove out of town and met 14-year-old Leslie Mahaffy on a country road. It was a beautiful sunny day, the girl was returning home from the forest. And when a car stopped next to her and a beautiful smiling woman offered to give her a ride home, Leslie did not suspect anything bad.

Soon the well-being of the young family improved greatly and there was time to think about pleasures.

Maniacs are on the hunt

The maniacs went on the next hunt on April 16, 1992. It was like this, 15-year-old Kristen French was returning from school when a young couple called her at the parking lot near the church. They introduced themselves as tourists and asked the girl to show them the way to Lake Ontario. The young people were so sweet, beautiful and pleasant that Kristen agreed without any hesitation. His opinion was not shared by the court, which considered the woman a victim of the regime, and ... let her go.

In 1951, justice finally got to Ilse Koch. The West Germans condemned her to life imprisonment. In 1967, the unsinkable fascist woman managed to hang herself, which surprised the guards, who did not take their eyes off her.
